Governance
The Human Cell Atlas comprises members from many scientific institutions around the world. It is only by working together that we will be able to achieve the ambitious goals of this project.
The HCA is steered and governed by an Organizing Committee (OC), which is the decision-making body of the HCA. The OC is co-chaired by Aviv Regev and Sarah Teichmann. Muzz Haniffa and Chloe Villani serve as vice-chairs, and Shyam Prabhakar serves as Global Coordination Lead.
Members of the HCA Advisory Committee (AC) provide guidance and insight to the HCA Organizing Committee, and may attend OC meetings as observers.
The OC has an Executive Committee (EC) that is responsible for performing routine tasks between OC meetings, reviewing meeting agendas, and providing guidance to the HCA Executive Office.
